What is The Guardian Eye?

The Guardian Eye, or TGEYE for short, is advanced computer monitoring software capable of logging any user's computer activity. TGEYE can log all applications being used, all keys typed, all websites visited, all clipboard changes, it can take screenshots, and so much more. One of the best parts is, TGEYE can save the logs locally to be viewed with the built-in Log Viewer, or it can send them via Email or FTP to be read from anywhere.

What are the minimum requirements?

Is this easy to install?

Absolutely! TGEYE is pre-configured to work with literally the click of a button. If you want to use the more advanced options, configuration is simple and there's plenty of documentation to help you along the way!

What is a keylogger?

Generally speaking, a keylogger is a program capable of monitoring all keystrokes entered on a computer. Over the years, the keylogger has evolved from being able to monitor simple keystrokes, all the way to taking screenshots of the computer and sending logs remotely. In the past, keyloggers were considered to be malicious tools of the common hacker, but today, they can be used on personal, family, and business computers for security monitoring purposes.

Is keylogging illegal?

It very much so depends on how you use it. We don't support the use of The Guardian Eye for illegal purposes in any way as it was meant to help protect the user. You should always take your local and federal laws into account before using computer monitoring software. If we find out our software is being used harmfully, we will no longer support the violator and will revoke said license.

How many computers can TGEYE be used on?

Does TGEYE offer administrative control?

Yes, TGEYE can be used to restrict certain windows features that you may not want your users accessing, such as the Task Manager and the Registry Editor.

What is FTP and how do I use it?

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol (Similar to the idea behind http:// and https:// in terms of Web Browsing). FTP is a standard network protocol used to copy a file from one host to another over a TCP/IP-based network, such as the Internet. In order to use the FTP Log Sending functions of TGEYE, you need to have an FTP Server setup with a username, password, and IP Address. For example, if your FTP server is located at IP: 123.00.11.123, the FTP address in TGEYE would be: ftp://123.00.11.123 and your username/password combo would be whatever credentials you use to log into that server. Please note: in order to use FTP, you must first check the box labeled "Use FTP" to enter your server's information.

How do I block websites?

Go to the "Website Blocking" category inside TGEYESetup. From there, you can add a site to the block list by putting its web address in the first textbox and clicking "Add Site to Block List." When you install TGEYE, it will take control of your Windows hosts file and block all the sites listed.

Why won't TGEYE start on another user's account?

first, make sure you install TGEYE in a directory that all users have access to (we recommend "Program Files" as all users can access it; Bad example: "My Documents"). If installing in a non-global directory, you can install TGEYE specifically on that account to solve the problem.

I'm not receiving logs via email

It's most likely that your SMTP settings or sending email addresses are incorrect. In order for the program to send the logs to your desired email address, it needs to connect to one first. In order to do that, it needs the right SMTP server and port settings, along with your credentials (which remain encrypted and are not exposed). The default settings are designed for a GMail email account (several other types can be viewed by clicking the "Get Info" button on the SMTP Page). If your settings are not listed, simply search on google.com for your email provider's SMTP server/port info. If you believe your information is correct, it could just be your provider: Yahoo accounts have been reported to not work sometimes which is why we recommend at least using GMail to send the settings as it's been tested and working 100% of the time. You can send it to ANY email address, but using GMail to send from seems to be the best method.

How do I open the built-in Log Viewer?

Press down these three keys: (CONTROL + SHIFT + L). Once you press them, the Log Viewer will pop up and ask you for your password. Once you enter your password, the Log Viewer will fully open and you will be able to view all text and image logs stored locally on your system.

TGEYE stopped working properly, what do I do?

The simplest and quickest thing to do is simply uninstall it and reinstall it.

How do I uninstall TGEYE?

To uninstall The Guardian Eye, open TGEYESetup (the same program you installed it with) as an administrator. Make sure the file name and installation directory settings match that of the currently installed version, then go to Uninstall Features, and select the option to completely remove TGEYE from the computer. TGEYE will then be fully removed from your PC.

Why does the Log Viewer close after I enter a password?

If you incorrectly enter the Log Viewer's password, it will immediately close and re-hide itself. If you forgot your password, you will have to reinstall to change it.

Should I uninstall the Lite version before installing the full one?

Yes, before you install ANY version of TGEYE, you MUST remove the previously installed ones, even if you don't think they're active. That can be done with either the TGEYESetup application from the LITE version, or with the setup from the full version. Open either one (if on Windows Vista or Windows 7, do this by right clicking "TGEYESetup.exe" and selecting "Run as Administrator") and make sure the File Name and Installation Directory settings match that of the currently installed version. Then you go to "Uninstall / Remove Features" and select "Completely Remove TGEYE From This Computer." The Guardian Eye will then be uninstalled and you can easily install the desired copy.

How do I make it load with Windows?

By default it will. By checking/unchecking the box for "Add to Startup," you will determine whether or not the program loads on startup or not, respectively.

TGEYE won't start with Windows Vista/7 (1)

This is usually due to a permissions problem when installing. Please make sure you ALWAYS run TGEYESetup as an administrator when installing by right clicking the file and selecting "Run as Administrator," or else TGEYE may not install with the correct permissions on Windows Vista or 7.

TGEYE won't start with Windows Vista/7 (2)

If you're sure it's not a permissions problem (as mentioned above), then manually editing the Task Scheduler entry for TGEYE would be the best solution. When you install TGEYE from the Admin account, there will be an entry in the Task Scheduler on/for that account. The goal here is to add your administration credentials to that entry in order for Windows to allow it to startup correctly.

  • This is a beginner's reference that will explain how to use the Task Scheduler: Click Here
  • Make sure you open the Task Scheduler by right-clicking it and selecting "Run as Administrator" or you will not be able to save the entry as an elevated process.
  • If you go to that link and look at "STEP FOUR:The General Tab," you'll see options for Users. You want TGEYE to run, "whether the user is logged in or not," and you want it to use YOUR admin account to run it as (if "Do Not Store Password" is checked, there's a possibility that a password prompt will pop up when a normal user tries to run it).
  • When you're done choosing how you want it setup, click OK or Save or whichever option is available. You -should- be prompted for a password since you made the change manually, but after entering it you shouldn't see any message like that again (unless it's set to NOT remember it).

Does this work on Mac?

No, The Guardian Eye is strictly a Windows/.NET based application and is not capable of running on the Mac operating system.

I didn't receive my download link, what do I do?

First, please make sure you check both your Spam and Trash folder before emailing, as it is likely the email was sent there. If you do not receive an automated email response within 15 minutes that contains the download link, then please email cruceo@guardanis.com to request your purchase. We will then supply you with your purchase order shortly after that.

The setup won't open or errors out

The most common reason for this is you do not have .NET Framework 3.5 or higher installed on your computer. All you need to do is download it from Microsoft's website and then your program should work without a problem (Download).

The program opens, but errors when installing

The error most likely involves a CLR error (due to the .NET Framework). However, you may not need to update/fix your .NET Framework, as it has been reported by our members to work after installing the latest Windows Updates. Your best best would be to download and install all of the Windows Updates for your computer, as you were meant to have those files anyway... If that doesn't work, you may need to repair or redo your .NET Framework 3.5 installation.

How does remote installation work?

Remote Installation with The Guardian Eye is very easy. You simply open the setup, choose your settings, click Build (For Remote Installations), transport the built executable (default: TGEYE.exe) to the computer you want it installed on, and then you run it. That's it. As long as TGEYE is opened with the correct permissions and the computer meets the .NET requirement, TGEYE should have no problem silently installing with your chosen settings. For legal reasons, we will never help with remote installations more than the brief overview stated above.

TGEYESetup is being blocked!

This is a very rare problem, but can be fixed very easily. To open TGEYESetup, follow the instructions below.
1. Save the file onto your computer.
2. Click Start, click My Computer, and navigate to the file that you saved.
3. Right-click the file that you saved, and then click Properties.
4. Click Unblock near the bottom of the dialog box.
